Stylish Reads

I have a book buying problem. Every time I go to Barnes and Noble, I check the shelf that contains all the beauty, fashion, and style books. Even though most of them say the same things, I love them. Slap a few helpful hints in a book and write "Style" across the front and I'll buy it, seriously. I can consume a style book in one short evening, and I love to reread them over and over. So, I thought I'd share with you a sliver of my obsession.

Things a Woman Should Know About Beauty by Karen Homer, is a small little book perfect to fit in your purse. While I love the information and tips on beauty, the things I enjoy most about this book are her witty sense of humor and the glamourous old hollywood pictures.

Classy by Derek Blasberg is less of a style book and more of a book about everything. It's "exceptional advice for the extremely modern lady." It's probably one of the funniest books I have ever ready. Definitely a fun read.
Parisian Chic by Ines de la Fressange with Sophie Gachet is such a good book. Seriously, who doesn't want to be a Parisian or at least dress like one? Ines de la Fressange, the first model to sign an exclusive modeling contract with Chanel, also gives you a guide of all her favorite places in Paris. It's fun to read, even if you won't be in Paris anytime soon.
The Teen Vogue Hand Book is a must read for anyone aspiring a career in fashion. It's so interesting to read about how designers and writers worked their way to the top, how makeup artists and stylist got started, and what being a model or a photographer consists of. This is especially fabulous if you're considering a career in fashion.
I have probably read Style by Lauren Conrad seven thousand times. I guess
because everything in this book is so applicable to my everyday life. This one is probably one of my favorites! I can't wait for her book, "Beauty", to come out on my birthday, October 16!

I just got the book, Seventeen Ultimate Guide to Beauty, by Ann Shoket, and I really do like it. I especially like all the makeup tutorials; there are several adorable ones. The hair tutorials are really fun too. I also own Seventeen Ultimate Guide to Style, but I must admit that I really don't like it as much as my other books. I think it's because a lot of the outfits are a bit juvenile and impractical.

The Fashion Coloring Book by Carol and Lulu is just that, a fashion coloring book. It's full of designers and their looks that you get to color however you want. It's full to pull out my colored pencils and create and design whenever I'm feeling inspired.

I have about a billion more books, but these are some of my favorites. I think I love my blog so much because it's like a baby style book. Let me know if you know any must-read style, beauty, or fashion books!!

Can you do a post on girly books (non fashion) to read during the school year? Or good reads in general?
